A well-known insurance company is looking to fill more Phoenix customer service jobs. Take a look at http://jobs.insight.com to find current job openings.

21st Century Insurance and Financial Services is planning to create 50 new jobs in Phoenix as the company consolidates other offices throughout the nation. The additional positions also will help the company keep up with its growing automobile insurance business.

The new jobs, which will pay salaries ranging from the upper $20,000s to mid-$30,000s per year, will be for customer service professionals. Employees hired for these positions will be responsible for handling questions from policyholders throughout America. Before being hired, applicants may have to participate in a pre employment background check.

"We prefer to have people with customer-contact experience, preferably in insurance and in call centers," Deborah West, director of Phoenix operations for 21st Century, told The Arizona Republic.

Job seekers interested in working for 21st Century can attend an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. January 20th at the company's office on North 28th Avenue in Phoenix. Applicants also can apply online. Employees hired for the new customer service jobs can expect to begin working February 21st.

The latest hiring effort comes on the heels of 21st Century hiring 70 new employees in Phoenix during fall 2010. The company currently employs about 280 people throughout Arizona and plans to add more workers during Q2 2011.

This is good news for the Phoenix area community, which has continued seeing signs of recovery. During November, the city's unemployment rate remained even at 8.5 percent for the second month in a row, after dropping from 8.9 percent during October.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Phoenix-Mesa-Glendale area employed about 1,740,800 workers during November, which is up from 1,731,200 workers during October and a 1.5 percent decrease from the previous year.
